Jurors received the case Monday afternoon after attorneys for the prosecution and defense finished their closing arguments. The defence also argued Castile was high on marijuana and said that affected his actions. As you can imagine, she's not happy.

Jurors deliberated for about 29 hours over five days before reaching the verdict.

According to Aljazeera, Jeronimo Yanez, the police officer, testified to the court that Castile was reaching for his gun despite being told not to do so. The jury discussed the "culpable negligence" for the manslaughter requirement, he said. Hundreds blocked the I-94 freeway a year ago after Castile's death was first reported.

Rep. Cedric Richmond, chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, called it "an unjust insult to an unbearable injury". "It is a sad state of affairs when this type of criminal conduct is condoned simply because Yanez is a policeman", said Castile's girlfriend Diamond Reynolds in a statement.

"The fact in this matter is that my son was murdered, and I'll continue to say murdered, because where in [sic] this planet [can you] tell the truth, and you be honest, and you still be murdered by the police of Minnesota".

He would not identify the two early holdouts, but said they were not the jurys only two black members.

Jason Sole, president of the Minneapolis NAACP, said he anxious about the impact the verdict would have on the young people who had been drawn into activism by the case.

A Minnesota police officer was found not guilty on Friday in the fatal shooting of Philando Castile.

Yanez pulled over 32-year-old Castile for a broken taillight in July 2016.

The acquittal of a Minnesota officer in the death of a licensed gun owner who volunteered that he had a gun seconds before being fatally shot during a traffic stop adds to the worries of African-American gun owners about how they are treated by police and society. Philando Castile was shot dead by Yanez during a traffic stop, past year in July. The officer asked Castile not to pull out the handgun.

"As soon as you say, 'I'm a concealed carry holder". Reynolds said he was reaching for his wallet. But moments later Yanez fired seven shots while Castile was still buckled into his seat.

During the trial, Yanez testified that Castile was pulling out his gun from his pocket despite his commands not to do so. I thought I was going to die.

One bullet hit the armrest between Reynolds and Castile. His death captured national attention when his girlfriend, who was in the auto with her young daughter, streamed the aftermath of the shooting live on Facebook. But no video existed of what happened inside the auto before he was shot. It was played repeatedly throughout the trial. Castile's family cursed and stormed from the courtroom and citizens flocked by the hundreds to the state Capitol to vent their anger.

Yanez stared ahead with no reaction as the verdict was read.

That left a jury to decide whether they believed Yanez on the witness stand, and they opted Friday to acquit the officer. He did nothing but comply with Officer Yanez's instructions to get his driver's license.
