Senate Judiciary Committee Probing Loretta Lynch's Interference In Clinton Email Investigation

Lynch conduct makes Feinstein 'queasy' Quick Takes
Grace Luna | 24 June, 2017, 01:37

The Senate judiciary committee on Friday sent a letter to former Attorney General Loretta Lynch asking her to disclose any communications she had with Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Committee regarding the FBI's probe into the former secretary of state's emails. This all stems from a May 24 story in the Washington Post that reported that Lynch told Renteria that she would not let the FBI investigation of Clinton go very far. Crime and Terrorism Subcommittee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C, and Ranking Member Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., also attached their names.

Comey cited Lynch's June 2016 meeting with former President Bill Clinton on the tarmac of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport as contributing to his decision to hold the controversial press conference on July 5, in which he said the Federal Bureau of Investigation had decided against charging Hillary Clinton over her use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state. The Judiciary Committee is now interested in probing the allegations.

That testimony occurred during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing.

"It gave me a queasy feeling, " Comey testified, adding that the direction gave him the "impression" that the DOJ was aligning itself with the Clinton campaign. The probe comes after former FBI Director James Comey admitted Lynch directed him to call the probe a "matter," not an investigation, as People's Pundit Daily first reported on May 11.

All were also asked whether they had been contacted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Comey regarding the allegations or provided them with any documents pertaining to the communications.

If Lynch didn't know already, social media told her that she has some splaining to do. And Debbie Wasserman Schultz denies having recounted any such conversation in an email. According to the Post report, the document - reportedly central to Comey's actions on the Clinton e-mail probe - was assessed by Comey's own Federal Bureau of Investigation to be unreliable and possibly fake.

What communications, if any, did Mr. Benardo have with Rep. Wasserman Schultz, her staff, her associates, or any other current or former DNC officials related to any representations then-Attorney General Lynch may have made related to the Clinton email investigation? The letters ask about an email reportedly recovered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation which some news reports have suggested might have been created by Russian Federation.
