US prosecutors are reportedly seeking a prison sentence of more than 50 year for Levashov.

Vinnik, who managed BTC-e, an exchange he operated for the Bitcoin crypto-currency, was indicted by a United States court in late July on 21 charges ranging from identity theft and facilitating drug trafficking, to money laundering. Vinnik, suspected of laundering $4 billion worth of bitcoin, was arrested while vacationing in northern Greece in July 2017.

Spain's High Court on Tuesday agreed to extradite Peter Levashov, who is wanted for allegedly creating a global network of hijacked computers for the "Kelihos" botnets that infected around 100,000 devices with viruses while also stealing users' private information, Reuters reported Tuesday.

At least seven Russian nationals have been arrested or indicted worldwide this year in connection with USA cybercrime charges, Reuters reported, anything but alleviating tensions between former Cold War foes.

According to Russian Civic Chamber Deputy Secretary Sergey Ordzhonikidze, a Greek court's decision to extradite Russian national Alexander Vinnik to the United States violates the Russia-Greece legal assistance agreement.

The Russian man faces up to 55 years in prison and a fine of $12 million.

At present, Vinnik's lawyers are appealing to the Greek Supreme Court, claiming that there are "insufficient indications, let alone evidence" against the accused.

US intelligence officials concluded in January that Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized Kremlin-sponsored operatives including hackers and propagandists to interfere in the 2016 White House race in order to hurt the campaign of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, spurring a tit-for-tat row that has resulted in dozens of diplomats being expelled from either country. Russian Federation has also requested his extradition.

"If I go to the USA, I will die in a year". "I will be tortured, within a year I will be killed, or I will kill myself".

Russian Federation has repeatedly denied allegations that it meddled in the race.
