Reports state that an exchange of fire was going on between the terrorists and security forces when the incident occurred. Usually, these articles give us clear evidence about their origin.

Jammu Kashmir Police also has identified the person who gave logistic support to Jaish-e-Mohammed attackers.

"This group infiltrated from the Sakhdar side in Jammu region". "So long our friendly neighbour does not behave, I think we will expect we will have many more (such attacks)", he said.

Kashmir police chief Muneer Khan said the so-called Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the attack.

"Four terrorists were killed in Uri on September 25".

He said that: "JeM is a threat because the cadres believe in such kind of activities, like attacking the camps". Police suspect some from the group could still be active in the Valley.

One soldier has been killed and two injured after terrorists attacked a Border Security Force (BSF) camp in Srinagar in the early hours of Tuesday. The three attackers were also killed in a two-day battle.

This is the second such attack carried out by the terror outfit recently, after the attack carried one on the district police line in Pulwama. He went missing from his residence after being released.

BSF officials said that some of the terrorists are holed up inside the building campus of the 182nd Battalion camp, according to the Times of India.

A team led by a CRPF officer entered the building and shot down the third terrorist, bringing to an end an hours-long operation that averted significant casualties. There were other officers in the mess who had returned from patrolling duty and had their weapons with them.

Considering the vastness of the BSF camp in Srinagar, senior officers chose to launch an operation that included men from the BSF, the CRPF and the J&K Police.

He said this meeting came in the wake of the fidayeen attack on the BSF Headquarters in Srinagar in which three militants and a BSF personnel were killed.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh complimented the security forces for successfully eliminating the terrorists. The old airfield, being manned by the Indian Air Force, is also located in the area.
