Giants improve to 2-8 with OT win over Chiefs

The Chiefs look to stay red hot against the spread in games on the road as they head into NY to face off against the Giants who have been horrendous this season, and with this one having playoff implications for the visitors I don't anticipate this will be too pretty of an afternoon for the G-Men.

With things having gone so cold, Smith and Reid can prepare to get a ton of heat. Reid said in his post-game press conference. This Giants team appears to have given up on their coach, ownership and each other. We got to make sure we do that.

The Chiefs came off their bye week with a league-low four turnovers on the season.

As it turned out, the defender did get his hands on him twice - one time before he caught it and once on the ground.

After Manning took a knee, Rosas delivered the game-winner. "We could smell it, we could taste it, it was there for us and we went and got it".

The Giants got the ball back when they picked off Alex Smith on a shovel pass for tight end Travis Kelce.

They provided a big stop in overtime, getting Rosas off the hook after his missed extra point in the second quarter was a big reason why the game went into overtime in the first place. Darkwa paced the running game with 74 yards, while Lewis' 55-yards led all receivers. Down their best player in Odell Beckham Jr., the Giants will have to rely on the few weapons they have at their disposal to beat an Andy Reid squad that is notoriously good off the bye. However, the Giants were unable to do anything with it and Brad Wing punted the ball back to the Chiefs, pinning them deep in their own territory. Landon Collins picked off the tight end Kelce after he attempted a bomb downfield off a lateral from Smith with 6:47 to go. That last one proved to be one gimmick too many, though, as Shane Vereen's pass for Engram in the end zone on first-and-10 from the Chiefs' 18 was intercepted by safety Daniel Sorensen.

"The redemption - I thought Janoris Jenkins played his tail off", coach Ben McAdoo said.

"We're going to have to go look at the film and man up", tight end Travis Kelce said. But he played his tail off.

PUBLIC BETTING: As of this writing, almost 70% of tickets are on the Chiefs to cover the point spread on Sunday. Those don't seem quite as glaring after they held the Giants to 317 yards and 3-of-13 third-down conversions in more than 60 minutes of football. The run defense looked better this week.

The Giants have some big games coming up in the NFC East, with a road game on Thanksgiving at Washington and then home matchups against Philadelphia, Dallas and Washington in December. That stretch begins with a trip to face the struggling New York Giants on Sunday. Kansas City has got to get on track, wrap up the division and hope to get some help to secure a first round bye headed in to the playoffs.
