Mueller Probing Alleged Flynn Plan to Deliver Cleric to Turkey

Michael Flynn and his son Michael G. Flynn are reportedly being probed by Speical Counsel Robert Mueller over a kidnapping plan to snatch a cleric away from the U.S. and deliver him to the Turkish government Did Flynn cut a $15 million deal with the Turks — during the transition?

Mueller is reviewing emails sent from Flynn Intel Group to Rohrabacher's congressional staff thanking them for the meeting, according to one of the sources, as part of his probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Woolsey was a member of Flynn's firm, the Flynn Intel Group, according to a Justice Department filing by the firm and an archive of the company's website. The committee asked government and military experts about efforts to track and mitigate asteroids, meteors and other "near-Earth objects".

Rohrabacher (R-Costa Mesa) has long advocated for a friendlier relationship between the United States and Russian Federation.

The special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating an alleged plan that Michael Flynn, the former White House national security adviser, discussed with the Turkish government to forcibly remove a Muslim cleric from the US, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

If this sounds vaguely familiar, it's because the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this year on a meeting Flynn hosted in NY in September 2016, in which participants basically talked about kidnapping Fethullah Gulen, removing him from his home in Pennsylvania, circumventing America's extradition process, and delivering him to Turkey's government, which considers Gulen a unsafe enemy. "We should not provide him safe haven".

Both the Wall Street Journal and NBC News report this morning that special counsel Robert Mueller has focused on former Gen. Michael Flynn and his son for a reported deal to allow Turkey to get their hands on exiled cleric Fethullah Gulen.

Rohrabacher's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

This comes five days after NBC News reported that Mueller's team has "gathered enough evidence to bring charges" against Flynn and his son. At the time, a spokesman for Flynn denied the allegation.

Flynn had been fired by Trump after just 24 days into the job for misleading Vice President Mike Pence about the extent of his conversations with then Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak previous year.

NBC News reported that Flynn is under investigation for involvement in the return of an alleged political enemy of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Turkey. But today's news cycle has brought allegations against General Flynn, ranging from kidnapping to bribery, that are so outrageous and prejudicial that we are making an exception to our usual rule: "they are false", they wrote in a statement. Flynn has expressed interest in an immunity deal and Mueller, in his dealings with former foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, has shown himself ready to negotiate.
