Yes, our pilots made this 'absolutely unacceptable' sky drawing, Navy admits

The Naval Air Station in Whidbey Island confirmed on of their flight crews was responsible.

If you're anything like one Navy pilot who flew over central Washington this morning, you draw a giant dong in the sky with your exhaust.

A Navy spokeswoman said that one aircraft was involved.

Navy officials responded, saying that the issue was under investigation.

According to the US Navy, the jet "left a condensed air trail resembling an obscene image to observers on the ground". The names of the aircrew, however, were not released.

Images of the drawing were quickly posted to social media, residents said, and sent around town through text message.

Ramone Duran said he was running errands in Okanogan, Washington, when he looked up and saw it.

She called it "the most monumental thing to happen in (Okanogan)".

"After it made circles at the bottom, I knew what it was and started laughing", local resident Ramone Duran told the Spokesman Review: "It was pretty amusing to see that".

We don't know why the pilot risked his career to do this hilarious stunt, or the potential consequences for the crew.

"We hold our aircrews to the highest standards, and we do find this absolutely unacceptable", said the Navy in a statement. Residents with children were angered over having to explain what was being drawn in the skywriting.
