Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles - 12/31/17 NFL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Jason Kelce delivered a few knuckleball snaps to Nick Foles Monday night against the Raiders. He and Foles jointly shouldered the blame for some shaky snaps and vowed to improve before the playoffs Cowboys WR Cole Beasley didn't travel with team to Philadelphia

The game had the feel of a frigid pre-season game where winning and losing didn't matter.

Beyond this week, Jones can remain on the practice field with the team - which he couldn't do from the injured reserve list - and can play a role on the defense in the playoff, especially if injuries hit the secondary.

There has to be some concern on how terrible the Eagles offense looked again led by Nick Foles.

The injury bug has gotten the Eagles pretty good this year, with star players such as Jordan Hicks out for the year with an Achilles injury and Darren Sproles, Jason Peters, and Carson Went done for the year with ACL injuries.

The Eagles secondary is in great shape heading into the playoffs. Going against a Dallas Cowboys team that is out of postseason contention doesn't mean a talent discrepancy suddenly exists either. They are still trying to find their footing with a new quarterback.

When the Philadelphia Eagles scooped up Sidney Jones in the second round of the NFL Draft, many scouts viewed it as a steal. That's how good it was, and how bad the offense was at the same time.

In a odd way, Carson Wentz's injury nearly highlights the idea that this Eagles team was destined to go to the Super Bowl. That was also the last time Philadelphia was blanked.

Their season isn't over yet, and all they need is for this group to string together three good games in a row to take home the ultimate prize.

The last time Beasley caught a touchdown pass was during a win over the Kansas City Chiefs back on November 5, when he snared two balls in the end zone. Now it's time to take advantage of it. He needs to regain some experience and build chemistry with his receivers, but at the same time you don't want Foles or any of the receivers missing the playoffs with an avoidable injury.

Where do you even start? He just underthrew the pass terribly.

Neither team was able to get past the 30-yard line of their opponent until the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, shortly followed by the first score of the game.

Almost everything about this football game was bad, and no poetic waxing about defense will erase how bad it was as a whole. It's because he's coming back from a severe injury and the game against the Dallas Cowboys is his first official National Football League game. They want to keep their players fresh and ready for the playoffs while at the same time avoiding injury. Afforded a chance to show what he could do with extended action, the Cowboys picked on him for most of the day, and a lot of the offense they did manage in the second half came at his expense.

Beasley, who played his college football at Southern Methodist University, went undrafted in 2012 but was signed by the Cowboys as a free agent shortly after the draft.

Defensively, I don't believe that Doug Pederson should play his starters at all on Sunday. If they were inclined to do so, they probably would have made a bigger effort to bring in a third option sometime over the last few weeks.

Foles said he remains confident.
