The former "Jersey Shore" star, 35, pleaded guilty to tax evasion, while Marc Sorrentino, 38, admitted to the "aiding in the preparation of a false and fraudulent tax return", according to a news release from the United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey.

Sorrentino had been accused of failing to report $8.9 million in earnings from 2010 to 2012. He'll be sentenced April 25.

Reality TV star Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino, along with his brother Marc, pleaded guilty Friday to tax crimes, federal prosecutors announced Friday.

"Today, Michael Sorrentino has come to terms with mistakes he made at a very different and tumultuous time in his life", his attorney said in a statement to Us on Friday, January 19.

The Situation has reached a plea deal with the U.S. Department of Justice and has agreed to plead guilty to charges of tax fraud.

On Friday, Michael Sorrentino pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion and admitted concealing his income in 2011 by making cash deposits in amounts that wouldn't trigger federal reporting requirements.

They allegedly filed false documents that understated the income from the businesses as well as their personal income.

And then, only past year they were indicted again on charges of tax evasion and falsifying records.

They were charged in 2014 and again past year with multiple counts related to almost $9 million in income from the show.

The Sorrentinos have been free on bail since they were charged.

While the charge he pleaded guilty to holds a maximum of five years in prison, his lawyer is hopeful he will not get jail time.

Sorrentino was a featured cast member on all six seasons of the MTV hit series, which followed the lives of a group of young Italian-Americans in New Jersey.

They were known for their drunken antics and the phrase they used to describe their lifestyle: 'gym, tan, laundry'.

The court approved Mike Sorrentino's request to travel to Florida for the Jersey Shore Family Vacation reunion show while under probation.
