The 30-year-old Lallana was caught by Marsh in an aerial challenge on 63 minutes, but his reaction was rather unbecoming of a senior pro.

Adam Lallana will not face a Premier League suspension despite being sent off for violent conduct in a Liverpool Under-23s match against Tottenham on Monday night, with images revealing the England worldwide grabbing an opponent by the head from behind.

Lallana is 29 years old, a full England global, a former club captain (for Southampton) and a Liverpool first-team fixture.

Lallana has not played since the defeat to Swansea City on January 23 (AEDT) after suffering a "little tear" in his thigh. And it's unclear if Klopp would even want to feature him anyway.

Lallana started in a strong Liverpool line-up, alongside Danny Ings, Dominic Solanke and Ben Woodburn.

It is understood that the 30-year-old will be available for Liverpool's Premier League matches against Southampton and West Ham, however, as any ban does not extend to first-team games. He's clearly not mature enough to handle first team action yet.

"It's really unlucky. It was a really serious injury in the summer", Klopp explained.

It was a miserable night for the Liverpool youngsters, who were beaten by Jack Roles' second-half volley.

The Reds ultimately lost the game 1-0, and were reduced to nine men, when George Johnson also seen red in the 87th minute.
