Page Referred to Himself as 'Advisor' to Kremlin Staff in 2013 Letter

"Based on numerous news reports, top officials at the F.B.I. have engaged in conduct that shows bias against President Trump and bias for Hillary Clinton".

Carter Page's words are coming back to haunt him. "It was just shredded - the Constitution".

In January 2013, Page met a Russian diplomat named Victor Podobnyy at an energy conference in New York City, according to court documents.

Last week, over objections from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice, President Trump allowed House Republicans to publish a secret memo that sharply questioned the justifications the Federal Bureau of Investigation gave for engaging in electronic surveillance on Page.

The man at the center of the controversial surveillance memo - former Trump campaign advisor Carter Page - sat down exclusively with Laura Ingraham on "The Ingraham Angle". That represented a "troubling breakdown" in the process established to protect Americans from government intrusions into their private lives, the memo said.

While President Trump and his supporters have tried to downplay Page's role with the campaign, in March 2016, Trump referred to Page as a member of his national security advisory council during an interview with The Washington Post editorial board.

"I never spoke with him since".

Page and Ingraham also discussed a paragraph in the dossier that Page disputed, which said he met with Russian oil magnate Igor Sechin.

Democrats, however, have disputed that finding, touting their own memo and alleging there was additional evidence against Page not contained in the dossier.

Democrats have called the memo misleading, and the House Intelligence Committee voted unanimously on Monday to release a document drafted by Democrats to rebut the GOP memo. Page told Stephanopoulos Tuesday morning he "appreciates" that effort.

"I was a witness to a case they were doing".

"That does lead people to believe - is this guy working with Russian Federation?" But he said he only served briefly and never met Trump.

"On the one hand, at one point you say you're an adviser to the Kremlin, then you're an adviser to Donald Trump", he said. Page said he used that description in connection to meetings he held in advance of an worldwide summit about global energy issues. "Then you're an adviser to Donald Trump".

Campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told CNN at the time that Page is "certainly not part of the campaign I'm running".

Page confirmed to ABC News that he is the individual identified as "Male-1" in a 2015 court document submitted in a case involving the Russian spies.

"I just came to see him as a kook", the editor says.

At issue is whether the federal probe into the Trump campaign's Russian Federation ties is infected with political bias, as Republicans say - or whether the GOP is using deceitful tactics to quash the probe, as Democrats insist. "So in terms of, when you say, "Giving documents to a quote-unquote spy"... it sounds a lot worse than reality, but that's reality".
