Kevin and Amy Sharp, as well as their two children, were confirmed dead by police in their hometown of Creston, Iowa, the Des Moines Register reported. Autopsies are being conducted in Mexico, the news release said.

Peterson was the first to report, via her Facebook page, that the Sharp family had been found deceased, and said in that post that foul play was not suspected.

The cause of death is still uncertain.

Mexico's national anti-discrimination council says a proposed law allowing doctors to refuse medical procedures because of conscientious objection threatens patients' right to treatment. Results are pending. The only thing that we can state that I was told was there was no sign of any traumatic injury.

The fact that the family didn't post any vacation pictures to Facebook or have their cellphones only heightened the worry.

"On behalf of the family at Southwestern Community College and the entire Spartan nation we thank you for honoring the Sharp family". So, everybody knows somebody who knows the people involved.

"This is all about working together to overcome our challenges, strengthen our economies and create opportunities", he said. They'll support the family, and everyone will get through it.

"There were third parties trying to contact the place" once the social media post went viral, Peterson said.

Iowa investigators have confirmed that the Sharp family from Creston was found dead in their condo in Mexico.

Other members of the Sharp family reported them missing to Creston Police around midnight Friday morning.

Relatives filed a missing persons report with the US Embassy in Mexico, KCCI reports. Results are now pending.

"On Wednesday at 7 p.m., Amy sent a text to our mom that said, 'We made it to our condo, '" Hoyt said to the Creston News Advertiser.

Hoyt said her brother-in-law's phone was tracked using Apple's Find My iPhone app and it pinged in Mexico. The family did not return to the USA as planned on Wednesday, and relatives grew anxious. However, nobody heard from them after that, and they did not make their flight from Cancun to St. Louis.
