Avatar finished with $760.5 million in the USA while Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens ended its run with an insane $936.6 million.

Just two months after "Black Panther" release in theaters and the Marvel film continues to dominate the box office. The movie has officially surpassed Titanic as the third-highest grossing film of all time in North America as of Saturday.

Originally released in 1997, Titanic bagged $600.8 million throughout its debut stretch, adding $57.9 million for its 3D re-release in 2012 and a further $691,642 previous year for its 20th-anniversary edition.

Black Panther has already entered the top ten globally, now ranked at number 10 with $1.29 billion in total worldwide earnings.

"Black Panther" is the cinematic iceberg we've been waiting for.

It's also the first superhero film to feature a predominantly black cast, starring Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa the Black Panther, alongside Lupita Nyong'o, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker.

Titanic has sunk to the fourth spot to make way for Black Panther on the list of third-highest grossing United States theatrical releases. However, it's unlikely Black Panther will be able to earn another $100 million that's needed to reach Avatar's $760.5 million record, especially since it's been in theaters for eight weeks already, not to mention Avengers: Infinity War's release is less than three weeks away.

The Marvel flick directed by Ryan Coogler will be the first film shown in Saudi Arabia in over 35 years.
